Three of Sonoma County’s most vital and active bluesmen performed live in the KOWS studio. Gary Silva on Cajon, Volker Strifler on acoustic guitar, and Ruben Valtierra on keyboards.
Gary Silva has played drums for John Lee Hooker, Mike Bloomfield, Otis Rush, Albert Collins, and Big Mama Thornton. Volker Strifler has played with Nick Gravenites, Al Kooper, Lowell Fulson, and the Ford BluesBand. Ruben Valtierra spent seven years in the funk/fusion band Rush Hour, and is best known for working with “Weird Al” Yankovic.
